Value of evaluating to create more success
A few days ago I was having a conversation with my daughter and she reminded me of a very fundamental part of growing a successful business, starting before you are ready and improving how you think, feel and do as your are working IN your business.
She is vegan and has been for years. She in also trained as a chef and has worked in restaurant kitchens for years.
She moved to Brooklyn last Christmas to pursue her culinary dreams.
She decided to create a holiday cookbook to help Vegans manage the holiday season.
She went to work, with the help of her boyfriend and friend and self created one and had sales.
She is so proud of herself.
I am so proud and happy for her.
In our conversation, she was talking about her next book and what changes she was going to make in not only the book, but in the planning and execution of the book.
Not once did she judge her current book, she is so proud of it and is making adjustments to her next book.
The moral of the story is, we all have done the best we can with the information we had and the results we created was just data on where we were in our mindset and skill set.
It has nothing to do with our worth.
So many business women, look at the results they created and think it was not good enough because they are not good enough. Which makes us feel insufficient.
As we elevate our mindset and skill sets, we elevate the results we create in the world.
If like Haley, we were looking at the results we had from the of feeling proud, what would we do or not do from the feeling?
My bet is show up more powerfully and intentionally.
Every result we have is just data on what our mindset and skill set was at the time we created the result.
If we think it affects our worth or is the best we can do and give up, that is the result you will create in the future.
But if you take the lesson from Haley and be proud of yourself for going out of your comfort zone and created something, you can evaluate what worked, what did not work and what to do differently next time.
Just like Haley, you may learn there is a skill you can learn that will make your next goal even more successful than the last.
I am so grateful for my Cupcake as she has always been my teacher and helped me become the best version of myself.
Her being courageous and always wanting to be the best version of herself is a huge inspiration for me.
