The secret to creating thoughts and thus a profitable business
So many of us live our life thinking that life happens to us.
We think that we are at the effect of the external things that happen to us.
I teach my clients a concept that shows them just how powerful they are.
I teach them how to think on purpose and create thoughts that will help them create emotions, actions and thus the results they want in their business.
To Create a business that we want, we have to think thoughts that we have never thought before.
If we keep thinking old thoughts we will keep recycling old results.
I teach my clients how to create their thoughts which is a skill.
Everybody who is created anything in this world has used their thoughts to create it.
First, we find the current thoughts that they were thinking which are causing the current feelings, actions and results.
Then, we create the new thoughts.
We practiced those new thoughts and believe the new thoughts.
If necessary, we create a bridge thought between the two that helps us believe the new thoughts on purpose.
For example, you may be thinking “I cannot build a profitable business”.
The new thought we create is “I can’t build a profitable business”.
A bridge that could be believable is “it is possible that I can create a profitable business”.
Practicing and rehearsing is what will make the new thought stick and create the business that we want.
Our thoughts create all our results.
If we create new thoughts, even small shifts in our thoughts, we will create different results in our business.

Cognitive dissonance - the mental discomfort that happens when going for a goal
Before I started my journey as a life coach, are used to set goals and I used to encounter something very uncomfortable.
When I would experience that discomfort I would make it mean that I did something wrong.
I would make it mean that maybe I’m not supposed to have that goal.
What I learned along my journey was that there’s a term for that mental discomfort and that term is cognitive dissonance.
Cognitive dissonance is the discomfort when you are between two beliefs and trying to believe the two thoughts at the same time.
This is where we’re trying to believe “I can create a new goal”, but your brain is holding onto all the belief of “I cannot create a the goal”.
The cognitive dissonance is where those two thoughts contradict each other and our brain is genuinely having a mental discomfort.
Cognitive dissonance happens when you’re going for a big goal and evolving into new thoughts and feelings.
Like me, most people would give up when they experience cognitive dissonance.
To create a new goal, we are required to grow and evolve and to be able to think and feel new thoughts and it requires us to become the new version of ourselves and hold new thoughts.
Cognitive dissonance is normal, everybody experiences it.
I teach my clients that the mental discomfort is just part of the process of evolving.
I teach my clients how to move along from the old thought and feeling to the new thought and feeling using a tool that we called bridge thoughts.
Bridge thoughts of where you create thoughts that help you bridge from one end to the other.
The old thought is “ I cannot”.
The new thought you want to believe it is “I can”.
The bridge thoughts that I teach my clients are thoughts like:
“it is possible that I can”.
“I am willing to consider that I can”.
“It’s likely someone like me can”.
This helps our brain start believing in the possibility of the new thoughts and creates awareness for the mental discomfort and the normalcy of all of it.

2 ways to make your goals inevitable
There are three stages of belief.
The first stage, is impossibility.
This is where you do not believe it is even possible for you to create that goal that you want it.
For me, impossibility is just disbelief.
But when I noticed that my feeling is impossible, I noticed that there’s a part of me that believes that I don’t have what it takes to create that result.
Because my brain thinks it’s impossible it means that there is a way to make it happen, but just not for me. But that’s a good thing.
Because if it if there is a way to make it happen, I can figure it out.
That’s a good thing, because it means that I just have to some work to do.
The second stage of belief is possibility.
When I think and feel possibility, I feel the belief that I can make it happen.
I believe not only that there is a way, but I can figured the way to create it.
I believe that one day it will happen, but just haven’t got all my ducks in a row.
The third stage of belief is inevitability.
When I feel inevitable it is grounded, it is certain, it is happening.
I may not have figured out exactly how to make it happen and I may not know exactly when it will happen, but I do believe it will happen.
I believe I will have it. So when I go into inevitability and believe that it will happen for me, I then create some thing my mentor calls do you goals goals.
A do goal is not just a concept that we have in our mind of things we would like to accomplish, but they are actually the action steps that we need to take to create the results.
They are a structured way of taking massive action.
Do goals have three steps;
step one, write what you want to accomplish down.
Step two, prioritize the three top things that you want to accomplish in the next 90 days. Be as clear and as specific as possible.
Step three, once you have a list organize and schedule when you will do the action steps.
Fill out on your schedule what and when you’re going to do things.
The most important part of this process is scheduling when you’re going to do things and honoring your commitment to yourself.
Honoring your commitment to yourself is what will your goals inevitable.
Consistently keeping your word to yourself and taking the steps that will be needed to create the result is the most important part of this process.

When I was struggling in my business, I had a habit of stopping and starting and only showing up when I felt like it.

Do you feel disorganized?

I used to feel that way all the time.
My live changed when I learnt that external disorganization was because my mind was disorganized. 😯
This was hard to take in at first and I was not ready to hear it.

Teaching the brain how to do something new like this, is very uncomfortable, like learning a new language.
But it’s very worth it when you know you can generate any emotion you want when you want it.
The benefits, is no matter what happens; client no-shows, someone cancels etc. you can still feel motivated and passionate.
Being able to generate effective emotions is the catalyst to creating a successful business, no matter what.

Do you get burnt out when you are building your business?
I used to struggle with burnt out and exhaustion.
I used to believe my burnt out and exhaustion was because I did so much and put in a ton of effort.
I would work a ton of hours and would conclude that the hours I worked was why I was burnt out.
When I learnt more about true burn out and exhaustion, and evaluated the times I experienced them, I noticed I actually worked less hours and created less on the times I experienced burn out and exhaustion.

What was the difference?
Burnout is caused by our thoughts and feelings.
I learnt that when I was burnt out I had poor planning, thoughts that lead to emotions of stress and overwhelm and beliefs based in scarcity.
When I experienced burn out, I was reacting to life and resisting the normal roller coaster of business.
When I experienced burn out, I was not dealing with my emotions and the everyday stress of running a business.
I was reacting, avoiding and resisting the emotions that come with running a growing business.
I was believing if I used willpower and just forced myself to work my business, I would create a destination that was better than where I was.
I was hoping for a future time and place that would be “better” than the now.
I also noticed I produced a lot less during the times that lead to burnout vs. the times I was energized.
When I was energized I produced a ton more finished results that lead to increased income.
When I was energized, I planned my week, planned my work and planned what I would create.
I knew what to expect and identified what I was working hard for.
I knew what results I was working for and what I wanted to create.
I had a vision of the journey and I accepted the normal roller coaster of building a profitable business.
The main difference is I am enjoying the journey even more than I anticipate the destination.
The difference is I fuel my actions with effective and energizing emotions that have me working hard and not getting burnt out.

In my prior business I used to quit when things got hard.
I accepted quitting as part of my life.
I just thought quitting was a character trait, but learnt quitting was just a habit.
I also learnt that justifying quitting was a skill and the more I quit the better I got at quitting and justifying quitting.
I would commit to building a successful business or commit to reaching out to a certain number of customers in a week.
I had the desire to grow a profitable business.
But my desire to avoid pain, seek pleasure and exert the least amount of energy was stronger, and I found myself quitting when things got hard.

Every time I quit, I got a temporary dopamine hit and it would feel good.

I made a commit to my future self and the future business I want.
I know I will have a desire to quit, but my desire to build a successful business that empowers so many women is stronger.
I have learnt how to manage my mind using my pre frontal cortex and the strategic by product of this skill is me taking the amazing skill into other areas of my life and have achieving bigger goals than I ever imagined before.

Do you have constant thoughts like "I cannot do it"?
When I was stuck in my business, I would have the thought “I cannot do this.”
Every time I went for a goal, my brain would have tons of doubts that I could not do this.
It would find evidence why other people could do it, but not me.
Even if I took action, it came from a place of doubting that I could do it, so the action was half, faking, not really how I wanted to show up in the world, and not be sustainable.
The results I created, was to prove the thought I cannot do this.
I learned along this journey that “I cannot do this” was just a thought that everybody has.
I accepted the thought and choose change my thoughts to “maybe, I can do this”.
My feeling was determined.
The actions I took from the feeling of determined were, learning how to take action, trying, putting things out into the world see what happened, creating progress.
The results I created were proof and evidence to support the thoughts and show that I could do it.
Now my thought is “of course, I can do this”!
My feeling is resolved. And I take massive action where even if I experience failure I make it mean that this is growth and progress.
I am creating tons of proof and evidence that I can do this.

I remind myself of this quote frequently.
Just like most of you, I’m always looking for instant results when I do something.
And when I don’t get the instant results, I make it mean, that something has gone wrong.
Over the years I remind myself of this quote by Tony Robbins and it has served me so many times when I have wanted to quit.
Trusting that God or the universe or a higher source, has my back and that I will get what I believe I can have.
Has been the biggest stress reliever of my career.
I decided to believe that I will create the results that I want.
Sometimes it will take a long time and sometimes it will not.
But if it does not happen right away I decided that I was going to believe that it is coming.
And with time, patience and action I have received some results that I forgot I even asked.
I have received results but I forgot I even put out.
As a business person, what have you asked for and put into the universe?
When you didn’t receive it did you stop working for it and give up hope?
Or did you believe that it was put into your heart and your mind for a reason and kept taking massive action?
By stopping to take action, you were telling the universe that you do not think you deserve it.

And we use this evidence that we did not get the results in the timeframe we thought we should get it, as proof and evidence that we cannot get it.

Have you ever heard the joke, of a construction worker who every lunchtime would go to lunch with his coworkers, open his lunchbox, take out his peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and say “ peanut butter and jelly again! Every day, same old thing!“

And instead of complaining and doing the same thing over and over again.
What if we decided, today we were going to do one thing differently?
Today we are either going to decide to pack a different sandwich, or accept that we packed the peanut butter and jelly.
We can decide today we’re going to do something differently, by networking with three new people today or at the end of the day not being upset we didn’t talk to three new people.
This gives us our power back as the creator of our Business, because we are.
Business does not happen to us we create our business.
So if June ended and you did not hit your goals, it’s because you created it.
And unlike the construction worker getting upset, have understanding and see that you did it and decide to do something different in July.
Start by thinking “July will be different because I will....”
“July will be different because I can...”
Talk to three people a day for 31 days, show up in my business every day for 31 days, set a goal and do everything You can to reach that goal.

Effective personal development is like a clean and organized closet
I am always working on finding ways to create the life of my dreams and helping as many women create the results they have been struggling to create.
One of the biggest mistakes I did for years and I see most people do is we collect a ton of new concepts and ideas; Read a ton of books; Attend a ton of webinars and trainings and still get the same results they we have always gotten.
Or struggle to create new results with tons of banged up knees to show for it.
I teach my clients that personal development is like cleaning up a closet.
The old way is just buying new clothes and shoes and shoving them into the closet.
This way leaves you with a mess and you do not really know what you have.

Yes, at one point in time the size 16 suit looked and felt great, but not a size 8 body (yes, I lost almost 50 pounds).
Now you can go get new clothes because you know what you need.
The clothes are like thoughts, you may learn that you are at a different place in your life and business and specific book or course is what you need.
This speeds up the time you get to solve your problem and has you actually solving for the right problem, which saves you time and money and gets you to your goal a lot faster.
You feel better in the process and get to enjoy the process because you create the life and business you want.

Before I stated this journey, I used to look to external sources to give me confidence. I used to believe either I was confident, or I was not.
If I did not feel confident, I thought I had to do something, act and hopefully get the result I wanted to feel confident.
I always thought that to have confidence I had to look to external sources and the actions I took to feel confident.
My life changed when I learnt that the reason people feel confident is because of their thoughts. They had thoughts that lead them to feel confident or unlike thoughts like mine, that left me not feeling confident.
I started to notice, the difference between the people who felt confident and me, was that the ones who
felt confident kept acting no matter what results they got.
They had tons of momentum in their life and their business.
They had chosen to believe thoughts that helped them feel confident while I was choosing thoughts that did not serve me.
They were still getting results like no shows, cancellations, clients/customers saying no, but they were still taking more action then I was.
The reason was their confidence was coming from believing and trusting that they could create the results they want.
They believed and trusted they will figure out how to reduce their no shows, cancellations, clients/customers
saying no.
While I made it mean, that was just who I was or there was something wrong with me. They made it mean they were progressing and evolving.
They made confidence into a skill and they made developing that skill into an important part of their evolution.
When I started using thoughts that made me feel confident, I started showing up more consistently in my
business, taking massive action and creating tons of momentum and movement that are all creating more of the results I want in my business.

Next time you need a break from your business, ask yourself why
There is a big difference between action fueled by abundance vs. action fueled by lack and scarcity. Action fueled from a place of abundance energizes you.
The action feels productive and is in service of you and your clients.
Action fueled from a place of lack and scarcity, feels heavy and exhausting.
It leaves you tired and needing to take a break from your business and from life.
My indicator to check the thoughts and feelings I am having is if the activity I have taken feels heavy.
If I need to take a break from my business or if I need things outside my business to motivate me, I look to the thoughts and feelings I have about my business.
Noticing the thoughts, I am having and asking why I want the results, is a key indicator of where I can improve my thoughts or remind myself the reason, I am taking the actions in my business.

When I struggled with business, I used to think “business was hard and only a few unicorns could do it”.
I would feel defeated and would try to take some of the actions, I knew I should take.
The sad part was any positive or negative answers I got when I tried, were always proof and evidence to support the thoughts I had about business.
